MY TAKE ON MR TRUMP's SHOT AT THE PRESIDENCY..... AND NOW!!

When it all began, I was behind Mr Trump's Presidency; I wanted a non politician, a business mogul to have a shot at the presidency and not just any presidency, the United states of America. This was to prove that any thing is possible under the sun  regardless of the "experience needed". I also wanted to prove to the politicians that citizens are tired of their rants and lies and they can be toppled anytime from those high seats.Yes!, as long as you show leadership accompanied by a  proven track record notwithstanding your profession/field/background ,you can lead. And Mr Trump fitted this ideology.

Fast Forward, I still hold on to that ideology. With days counting to the actual GOP Presidential Nominations, Trump is leading in several polls, can hear a heloooo!!!....however I am perturbed least to say am worried he might end up being the Republican nominee despite my earlier support. Don't get me twisted, i do have valid and some not-comforting reasons. Lets say Trump wins the GOP, runs against Sanders/Hillary and of course from the history of US politics, no one party has won 3 successive terms in the recent past, therefore the odds favor the republican party and there! we end up having President Trump, can you imagine?

I do admire Trump since his days of the Corporate Apprentice Television Show( You are fired!!remember that punchline?) However I now find him lacking in the capacity of a President . He does not meet my criteria to lead the strongest country in the world and whether you agree or not, here are my reasons.

First, I expect the US President to be humble, a people person. I have never interacted on a one on one basis with Mr Trump but from his utterances, it says alot. Recently he insulted a guy whowas setting-up his public address system in front of  the world, really?? Yes he might have wanted to display toughness, but what does it  mean when  he's the most powerful man in the world? Thats pettiness.

Second, I expect the US President to be someone who inspires the world, someone who brings together people from all walks of life in-spite of their religion, race, sex orientation, political ideologies. The US president is like a president of the world and when  coming after His Excellency Pres. Barack Obama, you've got big shoes to fill. Lets put our guy Mr Trump into perspective, do you think he exhibit qualities to lead the world? Do you think the world will be safer with him at the helm? Eyebrows have been raised, our mind still can't get over his recent utterances and with the recent Race-Debate in the US, there's need for a president who brings people together and not one who discriminates or talks strongly in a demeaning manner against a certain group to prove a point.

Third, We all the know US has the biggest and toughest arsenal, (okay its debatable for the critics) however the world credits the US for placing its men and women into danger zones to protect its interest and those of the world. This adds to my list of worries against the Trump's presidency; the guy will be the commander in chief; when he says jump you don't ask why but how high Sir! and that right there is danger enough. That not withstanding, he insists he wants the US army to be great again (as if it aint great already). This course, believe me, will hurt the US economy in the long-run, cause another Arm Race, loss of allies and lead to loss of lives. Gone are the days when USA played World Police.

I cant say enough about my fears however in the end its the US citizens who decide, but let me reassure them, the world is following closely and their actions will have repercussions across the globe. America is great already, yes every country has its internal struggles but the world still upholds the United States of America supremacy.

P.S. If Trump by any chance you become the 45th president of the USA, kindly don't impede any of my visit to the great land of America, its business not personal and you know that well.

BURUNDI BURNS, WE ALL BURN.

The world stood with France after the Paris Attack, we need to stand with Burundi.
Peace.
I woke up this morning
Saw a world full of trouble now
Thought, how’d we ever get so far down
How’s it ever gonna turn around
So I turned my eyes to Heaven
I thought, “God, why don’t You do something?”
Well, I just couldn’t bear the thought of
People living in poverty
Children sold into slavery
The thought disgusted me
So, I shook my fist at Heaven
Said, “God, why don’t You do something?”
He said, “I did, I created you”

If not us, then who
If not me and you
Right now, it’s time for us to do something
If not now, then when
Will we see an end
To all this pain
It’s not enough to do nothing
It’s time for us to do something

I’m so tired of talking
About how we are God’s hands and feet
But it’s easier to say than to be
Live like angels of apathy who tell ourselves
It’s alright, “somebody else will do something”
Well, I don’t know about you
But I’m sick and tired of life with no desire
I don’t want a flame, I want a fire
I wanna be the one who stands up and says,
“I’m gonna do something”

If not us, then who
If not me and you
Right now, it’s time for us to do something
If not now, then when
Will we see an end
To all this pain
It’s not enough to do nothing
It’s time for us to do something

We are the salt of the earth
We are a city on a hill (shine shine, shine shine)
But we’re never gonna change the world
By standing still
No we won’t stand still
No we won’t stand still
No we won’t stand still

If not us, then who
If not me and you
Right now, it’s time for us to do something
If not now, then when
Will we see an end
To all this pain
It’s not enough to do nothing
It’s time for us to do something [x3]
