This is the first post in a series previewing the World Cup. I will review each and every group looking at the most-interesting teams and the most-exciting players. I will also be telling you who i think will proceed to the knockout stage, and of course who will get sent home early.

Things to know

·         Each group has four teams. Each team plays three matches during group stages

·         The top two finishers in each of the World Cup's eight groups qualify for the round of 16. The bottom two finishers go home.

·         The first-place team in Group A plays the second-place team in Group B, and vice versa. The first-place team in Group C plays the second-place team in Group D, and so on for all eight groups. (umerada sasa)
