7 TIPS BEFORE AN INTERVIEW

1.     Look at the Interview as a Challenge Instead of a Threat- when you see the interview as a challenge to tackle and overcome instead of a threatening and scary situation, you increase your odds of success.

2.     Chew Gum before the interview-
interesting right? researchers have found out that the chewing motion gets blood flowing to the head, leading to neural arousal and making it easier for you to focus and concentrate. That’s why you see the likes of former Manchester coach Alex Ferguson chewing gum during matches. Chewing some gum before a big interview may help you focus on your talking points, remember important information and rid some of the troublesome stress that's bringing down your performance, try n see.

3.     Smile-
I know that is common or expected but did you know Smiling especially when meeting new people helps send the message that you’re friendly and easy to work with. Another thing about smiling is, it makes you feel happier and more relaxed, so don’t forget to politely smile.

4.     Body language-
According to Merriam Webster body language is the gestures, movements, and mannerisms by which a person communicates with others. I will have a future post on more of this but in short remember the old adage, "It's not what you say, it's how you say it," still holds meaning, even if you're not talking.

5.     Find out as much as possible about the company- researcher about the company, it culture mission and vision and also the job you interviewing for. It shows the interviews you are aware and interested.

6.     Arrive early-my mentor always taught me if you are not 5 minutes s early YOU ARE LATE that is on any occasion but i would encourage for an interview, at least be 30 minutes early.

7.     Dressing- You probably already know that appearance counts, but this is especially true at the job interview. Your interviewer will be judging not only your answers to his/ her questions, but also how you've put yourself together. Remember your dress code should match the industry in which you’ll be interviewing, as well as the geographic location and time of year.
